HISTORY: 
Well documented in the bible, the wood from the Cypress tree is most famous biblically for being the wood that was used to build Noah's ark. Also considered by the ancient Greeks as the tree of Hades, God of the underworld. For this reason, there are many Cypress trees in graveyards to symbolise grief in the Mediterranean region.
