Myrtle essential oil is distilled from the leaves of Myrtus communis bush, a bush or small tree that grows wild in the Mediteranean Sea and in the island of Cyprus. To produce 1 kilo of Myrtle oil requires 800 kilos of Myrtus communis leaves!

HISTORY:
Myrtle is native to the Mediterranean region and the Middle East. Ancient Persians regarded it as a holy plant, while the Jews and the Greeks regarded it as a sacred plant. It became popular in the 16th century as “angels” water. A lotion, where the major ingredients are the leaves and the flowers of the Myrtle plant.
APPLICATION:
Topical:
- Add Few drops of Myrtle essential oil in a pure carrier oil. Rub into the chest to alleviate respiratory problems such as asthma and cough.
Aromatic:
- Add 2 -5 drops in diffuser for calming effect.
